Christmas Wrapping Ideas & Hacks!

November 14, 2018 By: Majestycomment

So……Christmas will be here SOON! I know, I know….some of you are like, “oh PLEASE don’t talk about Christmas before Thanksgiving!” and others are like “We should have started talking about this in August!” 🙂 Well, I decided I would go ahead and give you a few ideas about gift wrapping because I know lots of you will have gifts by the day after Thanksgiving!! Apparently, Black Friday has turned into Black November because I’m already getting ads! Any excuse to go shopping works for me!

One video that I found on Pinterest that kind of rocked my world was how to wrap using the diagonal method. Have y’all heard about this? It will save you tons of wrapping paper (which means tons of money spent on wrapping paper), not to mention it might help save your sanity. How many times have you had a piece of wrapping paper and it wasn’t QUITE enough to wrap your gift? If you’re like me, you get irritated (and irritable), and you wad that piece up and cut another piece (or you wad that piece up and pour yourself a glass of wine for all your trouble….). So here’s what to do if that happens. Watch this cool video from a blog called “But First, Coffee:”

Pretty cool, huh? I thought she had some really great ideas! Here are some other cute ideas for wrapping gifts:

How about using candy as bows? This idea is from a blog called happy go lucky

Some of you may say, “Well, that’s a cute idea for kids.” KIDS?! I say for everyone who has a mouth! I LOVE chocolate, and I would LOVE to have a chocolate candy bow on ALL my gifts this year! We can worry about the effects after New Year’s when we make those resolutions for all of 2.7 weeks (what….is that just me?…..)

Here’s another cute idea for smaller packages – and this one might actually be “most” appropriate for kids:

You could also have a larger stuffed animal “holding” a gift!

Another cute idea just uses paper lunch bags. Use a hole punch and ribbon, maybe some decorative scissors to cut the top, and even a stamp for the front (if you like, but I think it’s just as cute without it!) These pictures are really more for wedding favors, but I think they would be adorable as Christmas gifts, too!

Or fold the top over and then do your holes and ribbon!

Finally, it’s always pretty to involve “nature” in your Christmas gift wrap! You can use plain kraft paper! You can get a jumbo roll at Amazon HERE! It’s only $16.99 for 100 feet. Add pine needles, pinecones, holly, mistletoe, flowers, or anything else you can think of using a glue gun and add some twine (get that on Amazon HERE for only $5.99!)

If you like wrapping Christmas gifts, then I hope this post inspires you! If you don’t, then go buy as many cute Christmas gift bags as you can find!

Please remember to share my blog with anyone you think might enjoy it and follow That’s Really Cute on Instagram and Pinterest! (links above)

Till next time! 🙂

Super Cute Platter Idea for Christmas Parties!

November 6, 2018 By: Majestycomment

As you’ve probably noticed, I’m all about making it a little “easier” on myself when it comes to…….okay, when it comes to ANYTHING…….but especially anything that relates to “cooking.” I saw this post on Pinterest last year and pinned it in hopes that I would actually remember it THIS year. Well, I didn’t…….UNTIL I saw this exact same Christmas tree platter on sale at TJMaxx.com the other day! Here’s the deal: if you use this Christmas tree platter, your “stuff” stays in the shape of a Christmas tree! You can use cheeses, meats, veggies, or fruits like this!

platter Christmas parties

Christmas Tree PlatterThere are also lots of other things you could use – be creative – use your imagination! If you don’t HAVE an imagination, or….if you don’t have time to use it,…… then search Pinterest or Google for more ideas! 🙂 I think this would be really cute (and EASY!) to take to a Christmas party or family gathering this holiday season.

So here’s the cool part (that made me remember this pin!). As I was scrolling TJMaxx online (which I do rarely, sometimes, OKAY! REALLY OFTEN!,) 😉 I saw this platter on sale for only $6.99! Here’s the link: Christmas Tree Platter

This is less than anywhere else I’ve found it! It’s actually $14.33 on Amazon (click here) and $13.33 on Walmart (click here)! So, if you think you might use this idea, order from TJMaxx.com soon (they run out of stuff fast sometimes). THAT’S why I check it every month, week….OKAY…..ALMOST EVERY DAY. I call it “research” for this blog – sounds pretty legit, right?

If you like the idea, but you’d like to use a platter that’s a little cuter (but also a little more expensive), Walmart.com has these options, too. They’re all right around $12.00 each:

Snowman:

Polar Bear:

Hope you like this idea! If not, then maybe you’ll like the next one! I’ll keep trying! Please subscribe if you don’t want to miss any great ideas or sales, and share it with your friends and family! Thanks, Everyone! 🙂

Do you know about IKEA?  Well, I’m kind of ashamed to admit this, BUT…..I’ve never actually shopped in an IKEA store!  I’ve only shopped online!  I’ve heard SO many great things about IKEA, though, that I decided to do some research and came across these truly great (cute!) “hacks” using IKEA (inexpensive!) products!  These aren’t MY ideas (although I wish I could claim all of them –  just cute stuff I found) Check ’em out!!

This stepstool is only $14.99! (click on pic to link to product on IKEA website), and you can easily use a can of spray paint to turn it into a pretty nightstand or a cute kid’s table!

Shower Curtain Pictures?!

February 9, 2016 By: Majesty16 Comments

I am now working in an office four days a week (almost like a “real” person). I have my own office which I haven’t had in years, and it’s a little ridiculous how excited I am about that!  So, of course, I needed to “decorate” it!  🙂  I wanted some really cute wall art that wouldn’t be too expensive. I had seen some ideas on Pinterest that inspired this idea. I found a fabric shower curtain at Wal-Mart with a pattern that I loved. Here it is, and you can click on the picture to link to it on Walmart.com – it’s only $19.88!

shower curtain

Next, I bought a couple of stretched canvases in size 24″ x 30″ like this. Click on the picture to link to a 2 pack at Walmart.com for $14.97.

canvas

After that, I worked REALLY hard (telling my husband what to do). It almost seemed like no work at all for me………..hmm………..

We laid the canvases out on the shower curtain and cut the curtain in a way that the part of the pattern on the shower curtain I liked best would be centered on the canvases, and then used a staple gun to attach the fabric to the back of the canvases like this:

canvas on curtain 2stapling curtain on canvasworking on canvas

My hubby had that staple gun going so fast, it was a complete BLUR!  (Just kidding…..I’m just really bad at taking “action shots”….even really, really, slow ones.)

So now, this is what my new office looks like with my shower curtain pictures!  Pretty cute….and, also, pretty inexpensive!!

Here are some other inspirational pictures I found on Pinterest:

This is another (larger) canvas board covered in fabric:

And this is also fabric that has been matted and framed. Considering all of the beautiful pieces of fabric out there, this would be an easy project, and you could match any room in your home!

framed fabric

This pinner said that these are actually fabric napkins!

And this is fabric covering 4′ x 8′ feet foam insulation boards from Home Depot!  Click HERE for the link – they’re $19.98 each for 2″ thick ones!

Valentine’s Day Cuteness!

February 3, 2016 By: Majesty3 Comments

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and there’s always fun stuff to do and buy (eat chocolate….buy chocolate)….okay – MORE than just chocolate!  (Although I don’t really “need” much more than that.)  But here are a few fun, CUTE things for you to check out!

First – if you need a cute teacher’s, co-worker’s, friend’s gift, etc. – these are pretty darn cute! Click on the picture to link to how to make them!

Chalkboard Mason Jars

If you need a cute shirt, you’re single, and you love your dog, how about this one for only $13.99 from Etsy?  Click on pic for link. Unfortunately, you can’t pick a breed, but how cute is this?!

My Dog is My Valentine T Shirt Gifts for Dog Lovers - Gildan Unisex TShirt - Item 2731

If you need door decor or a garden flag for Valentine’s Day, I LOVE this girl’s stuff on Etsy!  (I’ve already ordered two garden flags-her work is excellent!) Her shop is called Ashley Nichole Designs.

flag chalkboard door decor heart burlap wreath

If you want to take a really cute picture of your kids and send to relatives, this pose is pretty adorable:

boy

And if you’re like me, and you don’t want to cut out 53 red hearts from construction paper – remember – you can purchase that kind of thing!  🙂

And of course there are always Valentine’s Day TREATS like these cute Hershey’s Kiss cookies:

What “I” would do is purchase pre-made sugar cookie dough. Then you can use a heart-shaped cookie cutter and try to straighten out the curved edges – OR – you can purchase a cheap metal cookie cutter and flatten the heart side before cutting any – OR – you could try to find a triangular shaped cookie cutter. Then – this is the BEST PART – while the cookies are baking, you need to EAT A BUNCH OF HERSHEY KISSES AND SAVE THE LITTLE BANNERS.  Okay, the recipe didn’t actually “say” that, but I think that makes a lot more sense than melting the chocolate down and using it for another recipe…..I mean, c’mon……..So after you’ve eaten the kisses, you ice the cookies and use matching sprinkles and place the banner in the icing at the top.  Ta-da!  Who doesn’t love a “kiss” for Valentine’s Day?!

I also really love how these gourmet apples look!  They’re made by BigBearChocolates on Etsy.  They’re kind of expensive, but imagine how much time goes into making these things!!

Valentine Gourmet Chocolate Caramel Apples by BigBearChocolates:

Finally, if you need to give your hubby an idea for a Valentine’s Day gift (Is there someone who doesn’t?  If so, just know that I’m jealous), this necklace is really pretty! It’s only $24.00 and is available in gold or silver.  The couple pillowcases are $29.99 and are pretty darn adorable!   This sweet bear with a personalized sweater is marked down from $30.95 to $24.75 and is a great gift for anyone! And the 4 x 6 personalized wood frame is reduced from $24.95 to $17.45 (8 x 10 available on sale for $34.95.) The sale may end soon so HURRY!!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this Valentine’s Day post, and I hope you all have a

Need a cool craft idea?  How about this tie dye t-shirt?  Fun for all ages!

July 4th tie dye shirt, patriotic tie dye, july 4th craft, patriotic craft
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
– Tulip One Step Tie Dye in red and royal blue (Here’s a link for a one step five color kit that includes these colors from Amazon:  CLICK HERE!)
– Tulip Dye Zip Ties – Here’s a link for that – HERE – but I think any zip ties would work – in fact, I think rubber bands would work, too!)
– Tulip Surface Cover (Link HERE, but – again – I think most anything would work!)
– 100% white cotton shirt
– Pliers
WHAT YOU DO:
1. Wet or dampen your cotton t-shirt; wring out any excess water.

2. Lay shirt on surface cover. Cinch the shirt into three different sections and use pliers to pull zip ties tightly on bottom and top section as shown above.

3. Mix Tulip Tie Dyes and shake well.  Squeeze red dye and saturate top part of shirt.  Squeeze dye about a half inch from the cinched zip tie.  The dye does bleed and will seep to this section eventually.  Do the same with the blue dye at bottom.  Also make sure to turn over and make sure you get all areas on the other side of the shirt.

4. Roll and wrap in Tulip Surface Cover and let sit 6-8 hours.

5. Rinse under faucet to remove excess dye. Rinse until water runs clear.

6. Leave ties on shirt and machine wash in large load setting.

7.  After washing, remove ties. Machine dry.

Now, what about some really cute July 4th treats?  Check these out!
july 4th dessert, oreo pops, patriotic dessert, patriotic oreos
All you do is put Oreos on a stick, dip them in  melted white chocolate, and roll them in patriotic sprinkles!  So cute and easy!

For this cake, all you need to do is make a regular rectangular cake – or a pan of brownies – spread vanilla frosting on the top, and decorate with red, white, and blue M&Ms!  (You’ll probably need two bags…..or – if you’re like me, and you need to sample “a few” while  you decorate……you might need seventeen bags…..HEY!  DON’T JUDGE!) 🙂

Lastly, if you want to decorate your home for July 4th, here are some red, white, and blue lights:

Lillian Vernon also has some really cute home decor products like these:

Vinyl Flooring That Looks Like Wood!

March 27, 2015 By: Majesty2 Comments

0a42830ac99cfcb7853e4c4b101cc25f

So I saw this on Pinterest, and it comes from another blog called agracefull-life.com – check out her awesome blog and this great idea if your money’s tight, but you want an upscale look (That describes probably almost everyone except maybe the Kardashians…..)  🙂  I am seriously considering trying this in my own master bath, although it will be ~difficult~ to let go of the green marble-look vinyl tile that’s occupying that space now (yes….green…..marble…..vinyl). I thought if I waited long enough, it would come back in style……..I’m thinking now that’s probably a little “iffy”…..
